If Hannah Hansen became principal of Parkvale School

If Hannah Hansen became principal of Parkvale School these are the changes that I would make...

  • Ipads would be compulsory for doing work on because then all the children would all have to do the same thing but we would be allowed to take them home. The teachers would have full access to them. it would be easier and quicker.

  • I would make Wendy’s Burgers and Wendy’s out the front of the school and all the children would have to eat Wendy’s for lunch so then the teachers would know what the children were eating and if it was allowed at school.

  • I would make all the children at school have to wear mufti every day and then it would be easier for the teachers because they wouldn't have to worry about if the children were wearing the right school uniform.

These are the changes that I would make to this school if I became the principal.

My Taonga

Challenge Tree
Things that are special to my family

Two things that are special to my family are a belt and three medals. It is my Dad's grandfather on my Nana’s side of the family. His name is Norman Godkin.

Norman was in World War 1 and was a prisoner of war. He ripped the belt off a train seat and sewed the buttons he had collected. The buttons and badges were from other soldiers. Many are from different countries and many are from soldiers that died. There is also a bullet on his belt which came out of his leg. Here are some photo's of the belt and the badges.

Waterfall Jumping Splash

WALT choose words that describe a moment for the reader.
YOUR SIGNS OF SUCCESS

  • Begin in the action
  • Present tense (I am, not I was)
  • Short, Sharp Sentences

Key words: Waterfall, Jumping, Splash.

I am standing at the top of the waterfall, waiting for myself to get the confidence to jump.

“Come on Hanny, I will jump with you!” said my dad.
“1,2,3” SPLASH! As I was swimming back I was thinking, “That seemed to take for ages to reach the water.” I went under and came back up coughing but then I realized it was fresh water. I hopped out and then ran to my towel. It was so cold it felt like I was visiting Antarctica.

How to be a Guinea Pigs best friend forever

How to be a Guinea Pigs Best Friend Forever

Hug them and hold them tight
Care for them really well
Train them to be well behaved and not to scratch
Don’t punish them for what they do wrong
And most of all love them heaps.

Read Aloud Day

On Wednesday it was Read Aloud Day. To celebrate it Mr.M picked some children to go and read to a junior class. I was chosen and I went and read to Room 2. I really enjoyed reading to them and they were a great audience.

Reflection for Maths and my Showme

Reflection for Maths

In maths yesterday we had to add up the points for the swimming sports. 1st place was worth 10 points, 2nd was worth 7 points, 3rd was worth 5 points and for

· Something I was pleased with was that I only got 1 answer wrong when we were adding up the points but I fixed it up at the end because we all went through them and were finding out what was the right answer.

· I really enjoyed doing the times tables above 12 because they were quite challenging we had to use a different strategy to work them out.

· Something I found hard was keeping up with the numbers of where each house came and then working them out.
· Something that made me think was my times tables above 12 because I don’t know them that well.

· Something I want to get better at is my times tables above 12.

Something I  can do about it is work on them at home and not just do my times tables up to 12, I will do them above 12.

Eddie The Otter Who Can Play Basketball

Eddie The Sea Otter Who Knows How To Play Basketball

Eddie is a sea otter who now lives in Oregon Zoo. He was rescued for the California coast. he was brought to Oregon Zoo because he was unable to live in the ocean by himself. Eddie  has arthritis in his lower elbows and the only way to make it stop getting worse is to exercise it and keep it moving.  He got trained to play basketball. He learnt really fast. Eddie nearly never misses. If he does miss he keeps trying till he gets it in. Eddie was training in the first week when he got his first shoot. He only learnt a little while ago not when he was a pup. He is nearly 16 years old.
