·Something I was pleased with was that I crossed the finish line with a smile on my face because I knew that I had finished.
·I really enjoyed learning how hard it actually was to do 4 lengths of the pool after you have done a bike because I was on gear 6 and it was really hard so my legs had to work hard.
·Something I found hard was running with a sore knee and calf muscle.
·Something that made me think was what place I was coming in the race because I wanted to make my family proud.
·Something I want to get better at is swimming when I am puffed.
What can I do about it?
Work harder at swimming lessons so I can swim more iffitiontly.
I am really proud of myself because I tried my best and I did not give up when I was running with a sore calf Muscle and a sore Knee. I ended up coming 5th.
My favourite thing about being in Room 16 in 2013 was being able to meet heaps of awesome people and having an awesome teacher.
Something I would like to do in term four is go to the social and rock ‘n’ roll.
Something I would like to do next year is get into a digi class or an Academic class. I would also like to get into some academies at Hastings Intermediate.
My dream job would be a Veterinarian.
Reading
The best thing about reading so far this year is when we got to be in Literacy Circles.
The best thing I read this year was Hatchet. I loved it because it was a really good book and doing the Literacy Circle made me think more about the book not just reading it.
This is my favourite reading blog post that I created. I chose it because I am proud of what our group did and I really liked the book Dead Harry.
This is my favourite reading post from Lily. I think it is awesome because she added in great audio and her map of his island looks really cool.
I was most proud of learning different strategies for subtraction. I was proud because I used different strategies that I have learnt.
This year, Mathletics has been my favourite I chose it because I like making the posters and I find they really fun.
This is my favourite maths post from Olivia and Tracey. I think it is awesome because they have made a really good presentation.

Writing
The best thing about writing so far this year is when we get to do free writing.
I was most proud of learning how to write a story from a picture. I am proud because now I know how to write a story from a picture and I am able to expand my writing.

This is my favourite writing post from Teva. I think it is awesome because I like how he has added in the picture of Mahatma Gandhi but he made it in Minecraft.

We have just finished reading the book Hatchet in our Literacy Circle groups and it was a really good book. I really enjoyed it. Since we have finished reading it I decided to make a photo story on it the uploaded it to vimeo showing all of the activities that we had to do on the chapters.

In the literacy circle lately, we have been reading a book called, Hatchet. I am in one of the groups and so far, we are going really well. I have been, Discussion Director, Passage Picker and now I am Word Master. I have really enjoyed all of these tasks. Here is a photo of them.
My goal for camp was have fun and participate in everything I can.
I achieved this because I tried my best in all the activities and I did all of them. I had loads of FUN!!!
Something I was pleased with was that the whole class got along together and I got to do things I had never done before because I had never been up to Camp Kaitawa and I had never been caving.
I really enjoyed learning about glow worms and caves because I found them really interesting and I had never been in a cave before.
Something I found hard was running up the pipeline because it was very steep and it was very challenging.
Something that made me think was in the amazing race, when we were doing the thinking challenge, I had to think what were the pictures because we only got to see some of the pictures.

My favourite thing that has happened today has getting to see and pat a Kiwi. One thing that I learnt was that a kiwi makes a clicking sound when it is angry and it is trying to scare people away. The clicking sound that the kiwi makes sounds like an electric fence.
Moment in time: Kiwi
A lady is walking over to us. She is carrying a box. There must be a kiwi in the box!” I think to myself. Carefully, she lifts the kiwi out by the feet, out of the box. “The reason why she am lifting the kiwi out of the box by the legs are because to the kiwi, the legs and the strongest defence to other animals and people. The lady says the we all have to remain calm and quiet or else the kiwi will get very scared and angry. When the kiwi is scared it makes a sort of clicking noise that sounds like an electric fence. The lady starts walking with the kiwi around the room. She starts walking around with the kiwi going one way and she passed a kiwi around the room another way. The kiwi came my way first and I reached out to pat it. I felt my heart racing really fast. There was a rush of nervousness running down my spine. I felt nervous because I didn’t want to hurt the kiwi. I lean out to the kiwi and I feel my hand running down the kiwi’s back. The feathers feel like they are between soft and rough. They felt scruffy. I felt like I had just been through one of the most amazing things in my life. The lady starts walking past me now and all I can see around the kiwi is FLASH, FLASH, FLASH! All the cameras are going wild.
It is time to go so we all get up and start walking to the vans and cars.
Today we went Rock Climbing at Karamu high School. it was AWESOME!!!

·Something I was pleased with was to learn how to be the smiley better because I had never learnt how to be a smiley.
·I really enjoyed learning how to be the person who does the Belay because I like learning something new.
Something I found hard was climbing up the Rock Climbing wall because when we got to a point where we couldn’t go anywhere because my feet were slipping.
I really enjoyed meeting our two instructors Mia and Lain because they were very nice and they thought us how to be the Belayer and the Smiley, also the climber very clearly.
Something that made me think was what to do when I was the belayer.
Something I want to get better at is climbing up the wall.
What I could do about it is climb up the wall at school in the playground and trust my belayer more.
·Something I was pleased with was that my team worked together really well like when we were encouraging each other because it was quite a long way for us while we were walking.
·I really enjoyed learning different things about my group because some of the people I don’t know that much about.
·Something I found hard was thinking of a chant for our group because we had to rhyme the words.
·Something that made me think was how much time we spent walking all together because a full hour is 60 minutes and it is kind of different adding up the time. In the end we spent 1 hour and 18 minutes walking.
·Something I want to get better at is walking faster with my group and encouraging my team more.
What can I do about it?
I can encourage others more like when we are at a triathlon or something like that.

In maths yesterday we had to add up the points for the swimming sports. 1st place was worth 10 points, 2nd was worth 7 points, 3rd was worth 5 points and for
·Something I was pleased with was that I only got 1 answer wrong when we were adding up the points but I fixed it up at the end because we all went through them and were finding out what was the right answer.
·I really enjoyed doing the times tables above 12 because they were quite challenging we had to use a different strategy to work them out.
·Something I found hard was keeping up with the numbers of where each house came and then working them out.
·Something that made me think was my times tables above 12 because I don’t know them that well.
·Something I want to get better at is my times tables above 12.
Something I can do about it is work on them at home and not just do my times tables up to 12, I will do them above 12.
The things that I liked about this year was that we got to go and do heaps of things that I had never done before like:

I really liked this year because we got to be in a Digi class and it was my first time and it was really fun because we got learn heaps about computers. May favorite thing over all was year 5 day out.
I am really excited about 2013 and that is when my blog will carry on.

·Something I was pleased with was that my Optimist yacht or my kayak didn’t capsize or even come close to capsizing.
·I really enjoyed learning how to Optimist yacht because it was really fun and I had never been Optimist yachting in my life so it was really interesting and I would love to do it again.
·Something I found hard was Kayaking with another person because I am use to Kayaking in a single boat but it was really fun trying it for the first time.
·Something that made me think was when to pull the Main Sheet in the Optimist yacht because I didn’t know that much about them but after my friend Felicity showed me when to pull the Main Sheet I was fine.
·Something I want to get better at is Kayaking in a double Kayak because I was struggling a little bit and I am use to a single Kayak.
·Something I was pleased with was that I understood decimals more than I thought I would because at first it was really confusing but I got it in the end.
·I really enjoyed learning decimals because they were very interesting and they had different ways to learn them
and they were really fun as well.
·Something I found hard was at the time that we were in room 21, it was confusing what Mrs Harvey was saying write the decimal for....
·Something that made me think was fractions because when we had to find the fraction in a number.
·Something I want to get better at is getting faster at decimals.
What can I do about it? I can practice on the decimal game that Mr Moriarty sent us.
