This is my Tenses homework that our teacher sent to us because at school lately, we have been working on tenses. This is the site that he sent us. This is my scoring and a sneak peak of what I have done.

Things that are special to my family

Two things that are special to my family are a belt and three medals. It is my Dad's grandfather on my Nana’s side of the family. His name is Norman Godkin.

Norman was in World War 1 and was a prisoner of war. He ripped the belt off a train seat and sewed the buttons he had collected. The buttons and badges were from other soldiers. Many are from different countries and many are from soldiers that died. There is also a bullet on his belt which came out of his leg. Here are some photo's of the belt and the badges.

Eddie The Otter Who Can Play Basketball

Eddie The Sea Otter Who Knows How To Play Basketball


Eddie is a sea otter who now lives in Oregon Zoo. He was rescued for the California coast. he was brought to Oregon Zoo because he was unable to live in the ocean by himself. Eddie  has arthritis in his lower elbows and the only way to make it stop getting worse is to exercise it and keep it moving.  He got trained to play basketball. He learnt really fast. Eddie nearly never misses. If he does miss he keeps trying till he gets it in. Eddie was training in the first week when he got his first shoot. He only learnt a little while ago not when he was a pup. He is nearly 16 years old.

Homework week 1 term 4

This week part of our homework was we have to pick a paragraph in the book that we are reading at the moment and say why we like it. I chose a book called Diary Of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days.  The Passage that I have picked is on page 62 paragraph 3 because Rowley and Greg have started a Lawn Mowing VIP Business and Rowley already walked away and now it is only Greg and he is saying that he is not allowed to run over dog poop  and he has to stay at least ten feet away. It is so funny.

Maths homework challenge

For homework this week we had to solve this problem and this is how I worked it out. The question was The dairy owner had 73 Powerade bottles left. Then she sold 29. How many has she got left?

The question is asking 73-29=?

70-20=50
53-9=44

73-29=44

How I checked it

29+1=30
30+40=70
70+3=73
40+1+3=44
Mr.M said that we can mix all the numbers up to fit where we are learning so that is what I did.

• The lion in the flag represents the Sinhala race.
• The sword of the lion represents the royal family of the country.
• The handle of the sword highlights the elements of water, fire, air and earth.

2. The language that the people speak in Sri Lanka is Sinhala.

4. Sri Lanka is next to Asia. It is really small on the map when you look at the difference to Asia next to it.

7. The spice cinnamon originated in Sri Lanka and was discovered by the Egyptians.

11. Parts of Sri Lanka were badly damaged in the 2004 earthquake under the sea. Sri lanka was     the second worst hit but first was Indonesia. 35,000 people were killed in Sri Lanka.

Moira de Villiers

Moira de Villiers does Judo. She has made it into the London Olympics. She will represent New Zealand in judo at the London Olympics. Moira de Villiers was named to compete in the under 70kg class. She had to battle with a dislocated ring finger in the crucial semi-final round of the Commonwealth Championships early this year.
In spite of the pain, de Villiers, who had been accepted to the elite Olympic Training Centre in Paris, pushed on and won the event.
"It was sore but the adrenaline kept me going," she said. "It was about mental ability and toughness and I wanted it so badly." She is rated 18th on the Olympic ranking table. Originally from South Africa, de Villiers has been living on Auckland's North Shore since 2003.
She says as a non-funded athlete it's been tough achieving her Olympic dream.
"I work, train, sleep," she said.
"I miss my family."
New Zealand has sent 14 judo athletes, including five women, to Olympic Games.

ToonDoo Homework Challenge #4

For this week homework challenge we had to make a ToonDoo. ToonDoo is a site that you can make like a comic sort of thing. They are really fun to make and I think you should make one as well, all you have to do is click on the link, then go to Sign Up for FREE, then click on Sign up for ToonDoo and then enter a user name, password and an email and then you can create a ToonDoo. I made a ToonDoo and you should check it out also my teacher made one and I think you should check his one out as well!!!

Review of blogs Homework challenge 3

For homework this week, we had to do a review on a blog. My teacher said that we could only do up to three blogs and this is what I did.

The first blog that I chose was a girl named Rhiannon's blog because it has very interesting pieces of writing on it and I also love all the posts on her blog. When I grow up I would love to be able to write stories like her then put them onto my blog.

This is what it looks like when you first go onto her blog.

The second blog that I did was The Tree of Pride because it has a lot of amazing posts and also because you can see what my teacher and my class have been doing in the last past few terms and it will stay like that. I really like it because it has links to other blogs that other people can go and look at.

The third blog that I did today belongs to Felicity. Her  blog has some amazing posts on it and I have commented on heaps of them. My favourite post on her blog

Incredibox

For homework this week we had to make a incredibox which is a music video where you can make men sing and they can all have their own parts. Here is a LINK to my music video and at the end you can make your own.They are really fun to make and I am sure you will like it as well.
I really think you should try it because if you do, and if you have a blog like me, you can put a link to it and then other people can see it.
It is an awesome site and I recommend you try it too.

My favourite site

For home work this week we had to review a site and I chose a maths game called Snowball fight. It is really fun and it also helps you on your times tables. To get to the site here is a LINK to the sight. You can chose what times tables you do. It really helps me in mine and I think it will help you on yours as well. What you do is just go onto the link, then you pick a level of X tables and then click on it and then you have to answer the question and if you get it right you get to throw a ball of snow at the other person but if you get it wrong the people behind the snow throw snowballs at you. Once you have done about 5 questions it will give you a rating about how you did by saying like you are a speedy snow fighter.
