Last week, Bree, Olivia, Lily and I made a trailer on the book that our class has been reading, Joey Pigza swallowed the Key. I was Mrs Maxy, Bree was Joey, Olivia was Mum and Lily was the filmer and the Principal. I really enjoyed making the trailer because I think that the book is really funny so we get to have some fun making it and being not our normal selves.

Introduction

The snow Leopard is an amazing animal. It lives in India and is very beautiful. It is black and white and has some brown also on it. Read this report to find out more facts about the Snow Leopard, the amazing animal.

Description

The Snow Leopard is a large cat. It has a grey and white coat. The limbs and the head of the Snow Leopard is pure black or brown. In the winter, the coat of the Snow Leopard is lighter in colour. The tail of a Snow Leopard is quite heavy.

Food

Snow Leopards are carnivores. They eat wild hares, birds, sheep and blue sheep,

mountain goat, wild boar, marmots, bobak, mice, gazelles, deer and tahr.

Population

The population of the Snow Leopard now is estimated at about 3000-10000 left in the wild

370 in captivity.

Breeding

Snow Leopards breed at the end of winter from January to May.In a litter there are 2-5 cubs at a time. Gestation is for 98-103 days until the Cub is born. Snow Leopard cubs are very cute. I would love to keep one as a pet. When the cubs are born, they are blind and helpless.

Behavior

Snow Leopards den in Caverns and pairing up during Breeding. Heaps of people think that Snow Leopards roar but they do not roar. Did you know that Snow Leopards are nocturnal. They are active early morning and late afternoon. Snow leopards prefer to inhabit steep cliff areas.

Habitat

Snow Leopards like to live on mountains, Pine and evergreen and steep areas. Some live in the himalayan highlands of India. They also live in scrub.

Dear Ken Catran,

My name is Hannah Hansen and I go to Parkvale School. In our class we have just finished reading your amazing book, Dead Harry. I really enjoyed it because Dead Harry is really interesting and at the end of each chapter I really want to read on. I am so happy that you wrote that book and I think that it is a big hit for me. I liked how in some parts I feel a little bit freaked out like I really don’t want that happening to me but after awhile, I got used to it. I really like that book. Thanks for writing it. By the way, in our class, we got into groups and we all got to make trailers. I was in a group with Lily, Teva, Zeb and I. Here is a link to the website which has our trailers.

My favourite characters in the book are Elias Milton and Anna. I like Elias Milton because of all the things that he was teaching Harry are kinda gross but in a way, funny. I like Anna because she sounds like an awesome girl and she is really fast. I can relate to Anna in some ways because at home mum calls me a geek because I am always in my bedroom and doing things on my computer.

My favourite part in that story is where they are locked in the cupboard and that are trying to escape but they can’t because there is a fire outside the door and gas bottles. I like that part because it is kind of freaky. At that part of the story, it is like something good or something bad is about to happen.

To end my letter, I would just like to say a big thank-you for writing this amazing book and being such an awesome author. I loved your book Dead Harry and am hoping that I will get to read one of your other entertaining books.

This bridge is called the Lupu bridge but nicknamed Steel Rainbow.  This bridge beat the last record holder which was simply 32m long. There is a river that is 50m below and in the bridge there is no visible support in the middle of the bridge only at each end. they say that people that are scared of crossing bridges should not cross this bridge. This bridge links 2 districts in Shanghai. They are  Luwan and Pudong.

Read Aloud Day

On Wednesday it was Read Aloud Day. To celebrate it Mr.M picked some children to go and read to a junior class. I was chosen and I went and read to Room 2. I really enjoyed reading to them and they were a great audience.

Eddie is a sea otter who now lives in Oregon Zoo. He was rescued for the California coast. he was brought to Oregon Zoo because he was unable to live in the ocean by himself. Eddie  has arthritis in his lower elbows and the only way to make it stop getting worse is to exercise it and keep it moving.  He got trained to play basketball. He learnt really fast. Eddie nearly never misses. If he does miss he keeps trying till he gets it in. Eddie was training in the first week when he got his first shoot. He only learnt a little while ago not when he was a pup. He is nearly 16 years old.
